Effect of Giving Snakehead Fish Extract (Channa striata) on Albumin, Neutrophil, and Lymphocyte Levels in Hypoalbuminemia Patients

Hypoalbuminemia is a condition where the albumin level in blood falls below normal. known as marker of protein energy malnutrition, inflammation, infection, liver disease, kidney disease and postoperative stress. In Indonesia, malnutrition hospital data shows 40-50% patients have hypoalbuminemia or are at risk hypoalbuminemia, 12% them severe hospitalization period for with 90% longer than good nutrition. Decreased levels can be associated decrease immune system slow healing tissues/wounds due to infection. Neutrophils lymphocytes whose numbers increase when inflammation occurs. Oral administration high snakehead fish extract (Channa striata ) an alternative treatment hypoalbuminemia.
